Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. Brethren: fellow believers in Jesus Christ. Isaac: Abraham's son of promise. He that was born after the flesh: Ishmael, the "help God" plan of Sarah. It backfired. They always do. The world is still paying for that human good boondoggle. Bo...ndwoman: legalism. Legalism ALWAYS PERSECUTES GRACE! No one knew this better than Paul, who was a ravenous persecutor himself, before he was saved. We are the children of the FREE. Legalism has nothing to offer the one who has believed in Jesus Christ.
