The Source

Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?” “Who has ever given to God, that God should repay them?” For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen. Romans 11:33-36

Wisdom and knowledge of God: His omniscience. He IS all knowledge. He has always known all things."...in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." Colossians 2:3

His judgments: God is just and cannot be unfair. He is just to condemn (John 3:18). He is just to forgive (Romans 8:1). "for with the LORD our God there is no injustice or partiality or bribery.” 2 chronicles 19:7

Mind of the Lord: incomprehensible for unregenerate man. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9

Given to God...repaid? We have nothing to give to God. We are born spiritually dead and destitute of anything good. Not our heart. "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked..."Jeremiah 17:9. We have done nothing, cannot do anything, to earn God's favor. It is HE who gives to US. Love. Provision. Atonement. Eternal Life. Destiny. Purpose. Adoption as sons. All we can do is receive FROM HIM. Grace.

From Him: He is the source of all creation and the redeemer of our souls. He planned our salvation before the foundation of the world.

Through Him: He is the sustainer of the universe and of our faith, who have believed. He made the universe and keeps all the elements in order. He created us and saved us and keeps us saved forever.

To Him: He is the ultimate goal of all who respond to His word and serve at His will. We are permanently, positionally IN CHRIST. In this life all we do is toward the goal of representing Him faithfully, with Whom we will live for eternity.

God is in control and we are not. His glory is our motive and our reward. Forever.
