This is the promise which He Himself made to us: eternal life. These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you. I John 2:25-26
See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. I John 3:1
Those who are trying to deceive you didn't know Him, brethren. You should pay close attention to the ones who actually knew Him and are abiding in the Truth he taught. Those eyewitnesses who walked and ministered with Him are communicating His promise to you: eternal life! Peter:"Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life...and we have come to know that You are the Holy One of God." (John 6:68-69 The world chooses to reject Him because He doesn't fit into their plans and ambitions. He blows away their humanistic self-righteousness. He has answers, yet they prefer to wrangle endlessly about questions. The world is in desperate need of a savior and they would rather promote a politician. Satan is trying to establish perfect environment without honoring the One who created the environment. Of course, he cannot, for he is the spoiler of perfection. We believers in Jesus Christ, however, are God's own children. We know His love and provision for now and eternity. That makes us aliens in the devil's world. Jesus is our life-support system. We must abide in Him.
