No one who denies the Son has the Father

Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

I John 2:22-23

This really doesn't need much commentary. Everyone can understand the point John is making with this statement. There are individuals, denominations and sects who actually do deny the deity of Jesus Christ, yet call themselves Christian. This is not possible, brethren. Jesus is God and man in one person forever. It is the doctrine of the hypostatic union. 100% God and 100% man. Not either/or. Not half and half. While in his earthly incarnation, he mostly operated out of his humanity, for the purpose of being our propitiation. He proved that a man born with no sin can live a sinless life, which is what was required to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. He set aside His deity to live and work among lowly, smelly, stupid humans. He was one of us. He is one of us, now the first human in resurrection body in heaven. The only visible form of God. He is our only hope. Not just a good man. Not just a kind and gracious teacher. God in human flesh. The creator. He purchased our salvation and made us His own. No mortal could have done that. Jesus plainly stated: " If you knew the Father, you'd know Me. But you don't and you don't. Since you reject Me, you cannot know the father." John 7:28-29, John 8:19. Therefore, anyone claiming to be Christian, yet denying the deity of Jesus is simply a liar and the antichrist. There isn't just one. There are many.
