Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. I Thessalonians 5:16-18
As believers in Jesus Christ, we are IN CHRIST forever. Our eternal destiny is settled, but we're still here, in these bodies with the old sin nature in constant conflict with the indwelling Holy Spirit's influence. We have work to do, and choices to make. Moment by moment. While we wait for our Lord's return and our promotion, here's some advice: 1. Rejoice. Happiness is a choice. Whiners are losers and losers are whiners who "don't get no respect and no satisfaction." The believer is a member of the Royal Family of God! We have everything to be happy about, as opposed to those whose only pleasures in life are of the worldly variety and who let politics and competition dominate them. 2. Pray in the same way you eat. Continually. Habitually. No necessary ritual, no required posture. Privately converse with God as you go about your daily routine. He's listening. He's also advising. It's nobody else's business. 3. Give thanks for everything in your life. God gave you that job, those parents, that spouse, those kids. Acknowledge the source and understand you are not navigating these situations alone. Angels are observing, as are other believers and unbelievers, as you demonstrate God's grace provision to you in every situation. There are no accidents. Remember Whose you are.
