For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
Fear: submission to legalism rather than confidence in God's grace. We who have believed in Jesus Christ are IN CHRIST for all eternity. There is nothing to fear. That is our assurance. If we allow fear to control our thoughts and actions, we are neutralized in the sphere of spiritual warfare; useless as ambassadors for Christ. We have as our helper God the Holy Spirit. He gives us HIS absolute power. HIS perfect love, and the balanced mind made possible through HIS doctrinal discipline. With catagorical Bible doctrine stored in the soul, we can meet any challenge the world, the flesh and the devil can concoct. We can say with David, "the battle is the Lord's."
