For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. For "All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever." And this is the word that was preached to you. I Peter 1:23-25 with Isaiah 40:8
Our physical birth is of the earth, and Adam. That life is doomed. Adam sinned and all die. Our spiritual birth is of God, therefore eternal. That life is born and sustained by the Word of God. The Word of God is supernatural in origin and in endurance. I can be absolutely sure of this, because it is the basis of my own salvation and my own daily sustenance. It was not by man's testimony that I came to know Christ, but by His Own testimony in the New Testament accounts of His ministry: John 12:24. Also Simon Peter's testimony: Matthew 16:16, as well as others who walked with Him and knew Him in the flesh. Isaiah 40:8 is one of my favorite scriptures to teach very young children, because it is easily visualized and they can quickly learn and quote it, and they NEVER FORGET THOSE WORDS. All the beauty of our surroundings, as well as our own flesh has an expiration date. The Word of God abides ( love that word) forever. Luke 21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.Where shall we place our trust?
