Speaking For God

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. I Peter 4:10-11


Yes, we believers do "speak for God," in the sense of proclaiming the Gospel message and exegeting His Word in a depraved world, which is mostly hostile toward all manifestations of Him. Each Christian is gifted by the Holy Spirit with an ability to function in a certain assigned manner to accurately represent God's plan and purpose for us in this place and this time. All of us must learn and apply the Word of God in our own daily lives. We take it in, categorize and store it for our own personal orientation to life. Then it works its way out through our service in whatever gift we are employing for the Kingdom. Then we begin to recognize Him in ways we had not before. God prepares the called, places us in a locale with a job to do, and supplies all our needs to do that job; all for His glory and for the honor of our Lord Jesus Christ. God has a specific plan, a specific will and has specifically given us in writing all we need to know about His plan and will. Don't spend your life guessing what God wants from you. Read the instructions! Submit to a pastor-teacher who is gifted and trained to exegete the scriptures. Then when you speak, it will be God's Own Words you share, and souls will be edified. And doors will be opened.
